CLOSE TO HOSSEGOR

When you plan a surf mission, things rarely go as planned, and that’s kinda the whole vibe.

The forecast screamed Hossegor, but we ended up scoring waves at all the little spots nearby.

The week?

Packed.

The William Aliotti Twin Fin Invitational, the Royal Barrique, and plenty of sneaky sessions with even sneakier post-surf beers.

Edited by Arthur Genie and featuring the Oxbow fam: Kepa Acero, Miguel Blanco, Maud Le Car, Vincent Duvignac, Boris Romann, and Pierre Rollet.

AU FIL DE L’EAU

Trailer: https://youtu.be/wBByX8LGPeg

In Ghana, mountains of second-hand clothes from all over the world flood the markets and contaminate the lagoons.

Through a series of testimonies, Au Fil de l’Eau explores the hidden consequences of fast fashion: ocean pollution, social inequality, and economic imbalance. But at the heart of this complex reality, voices rise—collective movements, acts of creation and resistance.

The film follows those who, through surfing, art, or activism, turn constraints into drivers of empowerment.

From Busua to Accra, Au Fil de l’Eau is a sensitive and hopeful narrative that celebrates the strength of human connection and the vitality of local initiatives.

CURRENTS OF DEVOTION

The film CURRENTS OF DEVOTION follows the journey of our rider Maud Le Car, a professional surfer from France with a deep passion for the ocean.

From the high-pressure world ofcompetition surfing to the liberating experience of free surfing, where her focus has shifted from proving herself to simply enjoying the ocean and giving back to the sea that shaped her life.

Through her ocean protection association, she raises awareness about the importance of safeguarding marine ecosystems.

During a trip to Indonesia, Maud crosses paths with a local skateboarding association that empowers children by helping them focus on skateboarding to build a better future.

The film explores the parallels between their missions, both rooted in the belief that nurturing passion, whether in the waves or on the streets, can create meaningful change.

Through stunning surf scenes and glimpses into local communities, the movie CURRENTS OF DEVITION (12min), directed by Arthur Génie, showcases the power of connection, environmental responsibility, and the drive to protect what we love for future generations.

MARSHALL

Last winter, our rider Mathieu Maréchal ditched his home break in Brittany and chased waves down under, hitting the long point breaks of Australia's East Coast.

Shot by his Aussie mate Cameron Staunton, the short film MARSHALL(12 min) is a love letter to classic longboarding and the laid-back vibes of a vanlife surf trip.

THE RED ISLAND

Trailer: https://youtu.be/5hJ9Ka6hG-U

Madagascar is packing 6,000 km of coastline—pretty much a dream playground for wave hunters.

Basque surfer Kepa Acero had heard plenty of stories about empty lineups, perfect peeling waves, and reefs that can handle serious size.

So when a solid swell popped up on the charts in summer 2024, he made the call with two full-send chargers—his basque buddy Natxo Gonzalez and Portuguese ripper Miguel Blanco.

With the help of surf pioneer Blair Rogers, they scored dreamy waves and soaked up a culture just as rich as the surf.

Produced by OXBOW and directed by Jon Aspuru, The Red Island(20 min) captures their adventure.

PEOPLE OF SURFING

Trailer: https://youtu.be/z3Kw3thSO0M

Last year, our team rider Laure Mayer launched her web series PEOPLE OF SURFING!

With her raw personality, infectious smile, passion for surfing and desire to explore, Laure will take a journey around the globe to seek out stories of local surfers from foreign cultures.

“This is a surf series about the People.

I want to highlight the culture of the destinations I visit through the voices of a few locals I will be meeting and surfing with”.

This series is about human connections, travels and adventure in search of waves.

After freezing her toes in New Zealand for the first episode, Laure headed to a warmer destination for the second one: Brazil!

A 35-minute movie directed by Laure & Cameron Staunton, premiering in June during Oxbow Movie Nights.
