As the year begins, I made a goal or resolution to try to push myself outside of my comfort zone and try different lenses, settings and equipment that I usually wouldn't use.
This is a compilation of testing new gear during and epic first week of 2025 out at Banzai Pipeline on the North Shore of Oahu.
The "nicer" in-water shots are from the Dahui Back Door Shout Out on January 4th and the GoPro 13 shots were from January 2nd when I was shooting fisheye.
Camera Gear in water:
Canon R1 shooting 4k 120 C-Log 2 & Normal color + RF 70-200 F2.8 Lens Stabilization mode 3. No digital IBIS.
•I'm sure you can tell some of the clips are quite shaky because of the telephoto lens.
*My go-to is my 24-105 f4 for photos and videos and will be testing the 24-70 f2.8 with a variable ND/PL in C-Log 2

•I usually shoot at 5.3k 30 or 5.3k 48

*I prefer 5.3k on the GoPro usually, but I'd like to do this again vertically mounted.
