THE DAMNED ROCK: THE SURF TRIP THAT WENT WRONG

We travelled to a remote corner of Africa chasing a powerful swell, with one mission in mind: surf one of those days you spend months waiting for. But almost everything that could go wrong, did.

A lost plane ticket. A friend who couldn’t make the trip because of a non-refundable flight. And then, just when we finally made it to our destination… the surfboards didn’t.

With the swell arriving and no boards to surf, the whole trip started to feel cursed.

The Damned Rock.

But sometimes, when everything goes wrong, things have a strange way of falling into place.

On the day of the swell, our luck finally changed. We managed to find a surfboard to ride — not the board we had planned to bring, and definitely not the board we thought we would be surfing that day.

But somehow… it worked.

And it worked incredibly well.

What followed was an unforgettable day of waves, adventure and pure improvisation, surrounded by one of the most incredible landscapes in Africa.

This is more than just a surf session.
It’s the story of a lost board, a found board, a cursed journey… and a day when everything finally came together.
