They put on a stupendous display of style and grace, while on the land, the vibe was electric as the surf culture-starved locals frothed to see their heroes close up, and wondered at the refined beauty of the latest longboards.

Fans enjoyed a range of activities, including shaping demos, live music from DJs to jazz and rock, food stalls, and the infamous anything goes Duct Tape paddle races.

This has laid the platform for a giant leap in SA surfing and surf culture.
