Culture Houleuse is a documentary film about surfing and its culture in Brittany.
Director Florian Meca's 2200-km journey to meet the regional surf scene's actors and characters involved in the making and surfing of the ancestor of contemporary surfing gave rise to the project's common thread, the starting point for each interview and the embodiment of his questions.
A socio-geographical exploration that includes analyses of the history of surfing, the specificities of the Brittany coastline, cultural appropriation, gender equality and the evolution of the practice.
