“Maybe the real gaps on the map are not empty places, but an invitation for us to keep exploring.”

From the roaring swells of Nazaré to secret island breaks, Gaps on the Map is a Jamie Hancock film presented by O’Neill, taking you on a breathtaking cinematic journey along Portugal’s wild Atlantic coast.

Beyond the world-class waves lies a deep connection to the sea.

Through the raw, personal stories of local surfers, master shapers, marine scientists, ocean-bound families, and industry legends, the film exposes what drives people to the water: absolute freedom, a shared purpose, and a relentless thirst for adventure.

Brought to life by Nuno Alves, Nick Urrichio, Yolanda Hopkins, Gui Ribeiro, Miguel Kilford, André Lange, Charlotte van Berkum, and João de Macedo, Gaps on the Map is a portrait of the people, places, and perspectives bound together by the ocean.

Above all, it's an invitation to step off the beaten track.

STEP UP

2026 (France)

26 minutes

Trailer: https://youtu.be/6_fmWU16JcM?si=tT7H5oAH8muKOVEp

Starring Clément Roseyro

Directed by Arthur Picard

Clément Roseyro, 27, made surfing history by becoming the first European to win the Tudor Nazaré Challenge, one of the most extreme big-wave surfing competitions.

Hailing from Anglet, this exceptional waterman takes us, in *STEP UP*, to the heart of his rise to fame, navigating between pure adrenaline and deep introspection.

Through breathtaking footage and intimate confessions, the film reveals the harsh yet poetic reality of a young man who dared to take on the most fearsome waves on the planet.

An ode to resilience, passion, and the almost mystical connection that binds Clément to the ocean.

COME-UNITY

2026 (France)

26 minutes - VOSTFR

Trailer: https://youtu.be/6_fmWU16JcM?si=tT7H5oAH8muKOVEp

Featuring Maia Galot, Jeanne Dauthy, and Imani Wilmot

Produced by Oxbow's Be The Change initiative

COME-UNITY explores the concept of community in Bull Bay, Jamaica, where surfing brings people together.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, the IRIE project offered surf therapy as a safe space, while listening to the stories of local surfers and community members who share how passion, challenges, and resilience shape Jamaica’s surf culture.

COME-UNITY is a celebration of what binds a community together, inviting viewers to reflect on their sense of belonging, their own connections, and their passions.

“Irie” means “a sense of peace”—the choice to embrace the present, to recognize and embody the positive in every moment. The project of the same name embodies this idea by traveling to Jamaica to connect with women through surf therapy, which can help them find a new lease on life through surfing.
