Directed by Gabriel COURTY-VILLANUA
"Pôle Espoir" reveals the extraordinary daily life of teenagers, aged between 15 to 17, on the way to becoming the next French surfing and bodyboarding champions.
They dream of the Olympic Games as much as their next trip with friends.
In immersion for several months in the Pôle espoir surf of Nouvelle-Aquitaine in France, this documentary immerses us in the intensity of the competitions, physical and mental preparation.
Coaches, sponsors, school teachers and the family circle support this gang of teenagers.
We observe them, instilling in them values such as rigor, perseverance, social ties and even environmental protection that is inseparable from the practice of their sport.
Special thanks to the Water Family - Du Flocon à la Vague
A human and sporting adventure, this film questions the construction of oneself in adolescence, in a context of constant personal surpassing.
