Trilogy: New Wave is a documentary that follows Ethan Ewing, Griffin Colapinto, and Seth Moniz as they balance their demanding careers with lifelong friendship and a desire to rediscover the joy of surfing, free from contest scores.

More than a decade has passed since Taylor Steele’s original Trilogy (2007) was released.

Since then, surfing has transitioned from countercultural passtime to mainstream sport.

Trilogy: New Wave examines this evolution with a new lens, offering an unexpected perspective of surfing’s present.

Exploring their personal histories, motivations, and individual philosophies, Trilogy: New Wave charts three character studies against the backdrop of high performance, high action surfing.

Ethan, Griffin, and Seth battle in heats with the world’s best while trying to maintain their love for the sport they dedicated their lives to pursuing.
