After a week of some of the heaviest rain and destructive floods seen on the Australian east coast, the forecast suddenly shifted to present a window of offshore winds, sunny weather and what promised to be pumping surf.
Our team got together pre-dawn, geared up and hit the highway in search of what lay ahead.
