The stylish 24-year-old Ed Hamaty from Bulli on the South Coast of NSW has a different tale to most surfers.

Growing up in the Western Suburbs of Sydney till he was 16, he was more likely to be an Olympic swimmer, go-kart racer or petrol head, than a surfer.

A move to the coast and his unique talent has seen him carve out a career as a freethinking surfing outlier.

We caught up with Eddy to talk through his unusual path to shredding on the South Coast.
