Kai Lenny, Nathan Florence & Friends Kick Off Winter in Ireland

For most surfers, Ireland’s raw Atlantic power is something you watch on a screen.

For this crew, it became a week-long deep dive into the cold water. But the trip unofficially began before anyone even arrived. Natxo Gonzalez paddled into a Mullaghmore drainer so epic it instantly became one of the defining waves of his career. It was the kind of ride that doesn’t just kick off a season but rewrites it.

For Kai Lenny and Leonardo Fioravanti, it was their first look at Mully in full swing. Those trademark Irish wedges doing their best to impress and slightly terrify them. And with Conor Maguire by appointment of the crew was on hosting duties to help navigate Ireland's wild coast.

But the journey didn’t end in Sligo. When a fresh pulse appeared on the charts, slab specialist Nathan Florence & the rest of the pack went south, rolling dice on a notoriously fickle wave known as Rileys.
Heavy wipeouts, darker water, tighter caverns. This spot doesn’t offer many chances, but the ones it gives can change a surfer’s entire definition of a “good day.”

They got a few. They paid a few prices. They were happy to be back on land.

Press play and watch it all unfold.
