When asked to describe Imaikalani Devault's surfing, Albee Layer said, "I have no idea how he learned to surfing like that coming from Maui."
Known as the Valley Isle, Maui is the windiest of the Hawaiian islands, which lends itself to wild and wooly surf.
The fact that Imai has such style and composure in chaotic surf speaks to a deeper consciousness within him.
