We caught up with Taj after his latest road trip through Mexico. Here is a little insight into the trip.

It was a journey that came with plenty of warnings before it even began. With headlines everywhere about cartel crackdowns and unrest, everyone we spoke to was tripping that we were going. But after landing mid-coast and linking up with friends, it didn’t take long to realise the reality on the ground felt very different from the picture being painted from afar.

What followed for Grigs and me was 18 hours of cruising the coastline, scoring perfect little right pointbreaks, eating insanely good food, and meeting nothing but warm, welcoming people along the way. A proper adventure into the unknown with an all-time crew.

So we drove along the beautiful coast of Mexico without any problems. We were met only with kindness and warmth from the people we met along the way, like Max and his sister Coral Ricardez, young lords of Mexico who rip.

All in all, it was a trip of a lifetime and a real adventure, and we couldn't have asked for a better team to travel alongside. Couldn't have asked for better food either. Deluxe. Thank you to all the friends we made along the way and can't wait to get back over there and share waves with them again. Hopefully with some biiig stand-up pits next time too please.
