TEAHUPO'O XL PADDLE SESSION!!!

On the 28th & 29th of May Teahupo'o, Tahiti was greeted with an XXL south swell that was the biggest this year so far.

I flew from Maui to Tahiti the day the swell arrived, it was massive and out of control.

A few daring surfers were giving it a go early in the morning during a next level paddle in session about eight to twelve feet with fifteen foot sets.

Then the swell picked up around midday and the tow in waves started to show up with consistent sets above fifteen feet that were roaring down the reef and turning inside out.

After landing on Tahiti that night with few hours of sleep I drove straight to the end of the road before dawn.

The roads were full of sand and rocks on the final approach towards Teahupo’o.

At the point in the dark I could hear the waves pounding the reef, it sounded like airplanes flying through the sky with these very loud booms which meant it was still really big.

This was the closest I've ever been to the waves on a boat at Teahupo'o, the waves were super glassy in the eight to ten foot range with twelve foot sets and absolutely perfect.

It was all a dream come true filming with some of the best world renowned cameramen and photographers from around the world during a Teahupo'o Perfect XL paddle session!
