"UNMAKEABLE" a film starring Torrey Meister.

This film is a deep dive into Torrey's approach as a surfer. From the words of Kelly Slater, Shane Dorian, Matt Meola, Nathan Florence, Jamie O'Brien, and Albee Layer. Featuring surfing in Hawaii, California, Ireland, and Portugal.

a few quotes from the film.

"my favorite backdoor surfer of all time" - Jamie O'Brien
"The guys a little bit out of his mind.. But one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet." - Kelly Slater
"when you're paddling for it.. It looks unmakeable. But he just turns around and goes" - Shane Dorian

Now some words from me..
I met Torrey at Steamer Lane almost exactly 5 years ago. I have always been a huge fan of his surfing ever since I seen the film Nervous Laughter. I came up to him and introduced myself. I asked if he was going to Jaws for this swell the next week. He seemed kinda surprised about the swell, and that a random stranger was telling him about it. I ended up going to Jaws and Torrey was stuck in California showing his film Grit n Water at the time.
I had ran into him a few more times after that randomly during Jaws swells and sessions at Pipeline. He invited me over to watch the Super Bowl on the north shore of Oahu where his family lives and after that we started to become great friends. So much so he came up to Alaska and joined me on my commercial fishing boat during the summer. At that point he was working on an edit from the winter, I forcefully took the project over and 3 years later it is finally out. I had the idea to feature people talking about Torrey. When Jamie sent me the first audio recording I knew it was something special. I did not tell Torrey I was doing this because he's way too nice of a guy to want people talking about him (sorry Torrey!)

If I had to be trapped on a boat with someone for 3 months I'd 100 percent pick Torrey Meister. Now I'm not just saying that because I want him to continue being my deckhand in Alaska (please come back Torrey). I'm saying that because he is genuinely one of the nicest humans around. If you've ever met Torrey I think you'd agree with me.

I hope you enjoy this film. There's been a lot of blood, sweat and tears put into this.

Thanks for the support and thank you Torrey for allowing me to make this film of you.

Cheers!
